I was awarded my ARPS on the 9th of June 2021 with my documentary panel, which intends to show the viewer how I see the world with damaged retinas caused by a rare eye disease, Presumed Ocular Histoplasmosis Syndrome. It has taken almost 3 years to develop the best way to show the viewer using photography, how I experience with the world with vision problems. The decision to share that I have a vision problem has not been easy. Working on this project has helped distract me from the other illnesses that I am currently learning to live with. These galleries contain my work on life with this disease . It can cause blood vessels to form the retinas, causing damage and leaving behind scars. Scars have developed close to the macular of each of my eyes, this has resulted in my vision is being permanently blurred. By combining two images taken at the same time, the viewer is given a glimpse into my restricted world with damaged retinas. Scroll down to see more.
